The Blue-Eyed King

About this work

At first glance, the eye commands everything. Electric blue against gold and amber, it pulls you in before you are ready. But look closer and the eye gives up its secret. A giraffe, alive inside the reflection, as though the lion carries the whole of the wild world within his gaze. The resin surface deepens this mystery, shifting with the light, revealing and concealing depending on where you stand. The longer you look, the more there is to find. Acrylic and resin on canvas.
