A first birthday can look like nothing more than a small celebration, but it’s really the beginning of a life being witnessed. Everyone gathers without knowing what they’re standing around: a future that hasn’t revealed itself yet, a person who will one day carry stories, choices, strength, and losses that no one in the room can imagine. The candle goes out and time keeps moving, but the meaning stays, because moments like this don’t feel historic while they’re happening; they only become sacred later, when you understand how much of everything you love began right there.
