Amberd, meaning "fortress in the clouds," is a 10th-century fortress perched 2,300 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Aragats. Conquered, destroyed, and rebuilt across centuries, its ruins stand as one of Armenia's most powerful symbols of endurance.
